Biography
Born in Santiago de Cali ,Colombia, the mezzo-soprano Adriana Bastidas-Gamboa studied voice in the Conservaroty Antonio Maria Valencia in Cali. She pursued postgraduate studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, where she earned her diploma with honors. She was selected as a member of Cologne Opera’s “International Opera Studio” for the season of 2007/2008, which led her to appear in several productions with the opera house. She has been a member of the Cologne Opera ensemble since 2008. With the Cologne Opera she’s sung amongst other things, the title role in Rossini’s La Cenerentola, Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, the title role in Händel’s Rinaldo, Miss Jessel in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw, Dorabella in Così fan Tutte, Maddalena in Rigoletto, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, the
