Since her debut with Rosina – Il Barbiere di Sevilla by G. Rossini - at the Bucharest National Opera House, the Romanian mezzo-soprano Antonela Barnat has been a part of the ensemble on that stage until 2014 when she became a freelancer. The continuous development of her vocal range and technique helped her perform the roles of Venus in Wagner’s Tannhäuser and Donna Elvira in W.A. Mozart’s Don Giovanni. Up to that point she overcame the difficulties of roles such as Carmen - Carmen, Bizet; Angelina – La Cenerentola, Rossini; Romeo – I Capuletti ed I Montecchi, Bellini; Cherubin – Le Nozze di Figaro, Dorabella – Cosi fan tutte, Mozart; Siebel – Faust, Gounod; Hänsel – Hänsel und Gretel, Humperdink, etc. and the vocal-symphonic repertoire: Pergolesi, Vivaldi, Händel, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart,
