After participating in 1990 in the studio of Opera-Forum (Enschede, NL), he started his career as a Mozart- Belcantotenor, singing numerous leading- and comprimarioroles. In the following years Mr. Vonk developed into a dramatic tenor, under the tutelage of James McCray. Some of the highlights of his operatic career include: Don José in "Carmen", on tour through Germany with the opera of Krakow, Turiddu in "Cavalleria Rusticana" in the Hague, Boris in "Katja Kabanova" in Liege, and Laca in "Jenufa" in St Gallen
