Biography
The young South Korean soprano has recently been attracting the attention of opera houses and concert presenters worldwide. The 2020/21 season will see her sing Despina (Cosi fan tutte) at the San Francisco Opera, Gretel (Hänsel and Gretel) and Zerlina (Don Giovanni) at the Metropolitan Opera, and again Despina at the Glyndebourne Festival after her standout success there previously as Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia). Highlights of recent seasons include her role and house debut as Musetta in Barrie Kosky’s new production of La Bohème at the Komische Oper Berlin and her debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper as Despina in Così fan tutte, and her return to the Metropolitan Opera as Amor in Gluck’s Orefeo ed Euridicie.
