Born in Mataró (Barcelona, Spain), he soon became interested in music and theatre. He began studying solfeggio, piano and violin with Albert Nieto. Later he studied singing at the Conservatory of the Liceu and obtained a Higher Degree at the Conservatory of Music in Barcelona. He has received classes from Francisco Lázaro, Aldo Danieli, Bonaldo Giaiotti, Ana Luisa Chova and Carlos Chausson. In the season 1999/2000, he made his professional debut with Manrico (Il trovatore), and from then on he has become a regular collaborator of the opera programme of the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona.
