Biography
The Romanian-Hungarian mezzo-soprano Judit Kutasi with her “deeper, dark” (Jenny Camilleri/ Bachtrack) voice is one of the most up-and-coming singers in her repertoire and leads critics to predict that she “will be the Verdi mezzo of the next years” (Maximilian Maier / BR Klassik). She begins the 2021/22 with one of her signature roles, Amneris in Verdi’s Aida in the famous Arena di Verona, where the young mezzo already performed in 2018 and 2019. At the Théâtre du Capitole, Judit Kutasi takes over the role of Laura (La Gioconda). At Deutsche Oper Berlin she can be seen as Erda, in both Das Rheingold and Siegfried in Wagner’s Ring of the Nibelung as well as Ulrica (Un ballo in maschera) – another of Judit Kutasi’s signature roles. Ulrica is also vehicle for her return to the Bavarian State
