Klára Kolonits is a dramatic coloratura soprano born in Budapest. She graduated from Franz Liszt Academy of Music. After having won a series of prizes in major music competitions she has been engaged by the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest, remaining its soloist since then. Onstage she regularly interprets main roles in Mozart's (Donna Anna, Fiordiligi, Konstanze, Fauno and Queen of the Night), Bellini’s (Elvira, Giulietta, Beatrice di Tenda), Donizetti’s (Lucrezia Borgia, Lucia di Lammermoor) Verdi’s (Violetta, Odabella, Gilda, Luisa Miller) és Erkel’s (Melinda, Bátori Mária és Szilágyi Erzsébet) operas. Her broad concert repertoire spreads from Haendel through Verdi's Requiem and Lied/Art Song literature up to contemporary pieces. In 2009 appeared her Liszt Songs album, followed by solo
