Biography
German mezzosoprano Kristina Stanek will join the ensemble at the Hamburgische Staatsoper in the 2020/21 season. Since August 2017 she is a member of the ensemble at Theater Basel, where she made her outstanding debut as Mary Shelley in Michael Wertmüllers world-premiere DIODATI. UNENDLICH. Further highlights included Cecilio in Mozart's LUCIO SILLA in a production of Hans Neuenfels, as well as Suzuki in MADAMA BUTTERFLY. Current projects of the season 2019/20 in Basel include Rosina in IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA, Cherubino in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, Soprano 4 in AL GRAN SOLE CARICO D’AMORE and Isolde in LE VIN HERBÉ, as well as Mercédès in CARMEN under Marco Armiliato and the Philharmonia Zurich at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival.
