Maribel was born in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) into a family with a tradition of appreciation for the Arts. In 1998 she graduated in Chemistry and began her studies of singing and repertoire with Maria Jose Sanchez and Johanna Grosskreutz obtaining the Intermediate Grade of Singing from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. After winning a scholarship in the 1st edition of the International Singing Competition of the Jerezano Lyrical Autumn (Theatre Villamarta), she decided to move to Barcelona and joined the Superior Conservatory of Music of Liceu, where she was awarded the Rosa Maria Tarruel Scholarship for singing to enable her to pursue the Bachelor of Singing with Enriqueta Tarrés.
