Markus Francke was born in Freiburg im Breisgau. At the age of eight he received piano lessons and, while still a boy soprano, gained his first experience on the opera stage in Benjamin Britten's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Stadttheater Freiburg. After graduating from high school, he first began studying musicology at the University of Cologne before studying choral conducting with Professor Johannes Hömberg and singing with Professor Arthur Janzen at the Cologne Music Academy. He received further important impulses for his work from Berthold Schmid, Diane Forlano, Francisco Araiza and David Harper. Markus Francke has appeared on numerous stages and was a guest at the Summer Festival in Bregenz. From 2012 to 2014 he was a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. Here h
