Biography
The Austrian-Brazilian baritone Miguelangelo Cavalcanti is a soloist of the National Theatre Opera. In 2000, he made his debut at the State Opera as Count Luna in Verdi's Il trovatore. He studied voice in Recife and Karlsruhe, at the Bach Academy in Stuttgart, at the Royal Academy of Music in London and in Paris. He continued to hone his skills with A. C. Medina, E. Saque and G. Hornik. He launched his career at the Teatro Nacional de Sâo Carlos in Lisbon. From 1995 to 2001, he was a soloist of the Oper Graz. He has been a regular guest at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, performed at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona and at opera houses in Leipzig, Hamburg, Cologne and Basel.
