Biography
Californian bass-baritone Morgan Moody studied at Boston University with Richard Cassilly and at the New England Conservatory of Music. Engagements at Central City Opera, Opera Providence and Sarasota Opera followed. From 2004 he was a member of the opera studio at the Zurich Opera House, and finally a permanent member of the ensemble from 2006 to 2012. There he sang roles such as Bartolo ( Il barbiere di Siviglia ), Count Lamoral ( Arabella ) and Zuniga ( Carmen ). Since the 2011/12 season he has been a member of the ensemble at the Dortmund Opera, where he sang roles in several Mozart operas such as Leporello ( Don Giovanni), Don Alfonso ( Così fan tutte ), Papageno ( The Magic Flute) and the title role from Le nozze di Figaro, which he performed again in 2019 at the Salzburg State T
