Biography
The multilingual baritone Seymur Karimov comes from Baku, Azerbaijan. He completed his vocal training with honors at the Baku Music Academy with Professor Maya Godjaeva. At the Musikhochschule Freiburg im Breisgau, Seymur Karimov continued his artistic training from October 2002 with Professor Markus Goritzki. His early career as a baritone took him to well-known opera houses and festivals in Germany and abroad, including Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, Turkey and England. In May 2004, under the musical direction of Thomas Hengelbrock, he sang the role of Usciere (“Rigoletto”) with the Baltasar Neumann Choir in the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. His repertoire includes many roles from Belcanto and Verdi operas, such as Mozart's “Don Giovanni”, Papageno in “The Magic Flute”, Rodrigo in “Don Carlo”
