Biography
Serbian soprano Tamara Banješević is hailed by both European and American critics for her powerful stage presence and her beautiful lyric voice. Opera News proclaimed her as “a performer clearly poised for a major career”. Recent highlights include Gluck’s Euridice at the Aalto-Theater in Essen, Woglinde in Rheingold/Götterdämmerung and Waldvogel in Siegfried as well as 1st Lady in The Magic Flute at the Opera Bastille in Paris. In 2021/22, an important role debut is on the program: Gilda in Rigoletto at Aalto-Theater in Essen and a return to Bastille as Blumenmädchen and Erste Knappe under Simone Young. In September 2018 Tamara Banješević joined the opera company of the Aalto Theatre Essen, performing roles as Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Pamina (Zauberflöte), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel),
