Biography
The baritone Ulf Dirk Mädler studied singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mozarteum in Salzburg with Karl Christian Kohn and Boris Bakow. After his studies he attended the master class for song and oratorio with Wolfgang Holzmair as well as master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender, Edith Mathis, Sherrill Milnes, Harald Stamm and Bernd Weikl. He made his operatic debut in the role of Papageno in a performance of “The Magic Flute” at the Mozarteum.Between 1998 and 2001, guest engagements followed at the Salzburg State Theater, the Graz Opera House and the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, among others.
