This spring, soprano Edith Haller makes her much anticipated US-debut at New York’s Metropolitan Opera as Gutrune in Wagner's Götterdämmerung. Born in Merano, Südtirol(Italy), Edith Haller studied vocal performance at the Salzburg Mozarteum. During her studies, she received her first operatic engagements in Italy, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia. In 2003, Ms. Haller first gained international acclaim when she won the Mario Lanza Vocal Competition in Filignano, Italy. Joining the soloist ensemble at Theater St. Gallen in 2002, Ms. Haller had many successes there through 2005 with debuts in both lyric and jugendlich dramatischen repertoire.
