Lorena Scarlata Rizzo Mezzosoprano Mezzosoprano Lorena Scarlata Rizzo hails from Palermo, where she began her voice studies early with American soprano Elizabeth Lombardini Smith. She completed her degree in Vocal studies at the State Music Conservatory “Vincenzo Bellini” in Palermo with the highest grades and an honors mention. She completed various masterclasses with Magda Olivero, Pier Miranda Ferraro, Raina Kabaivanska, Dott. Romolo G. Gazzani, Renato Bruson etc. In 1999, Lorena won the Caruso Prize for young opera singers in Milan and in 2008 she won the International Singing Competition in Siracuse, Italy “Voices from the Mediterranean”.
