A symphony marathon was already on the program in 2020, on the occasion of Ludwig van Beethoven's 250th birthday - in 2022 it should finally take place. That means: all nine symphonies will be played in one day! For this Herculean task, the Dortmund Philharmonic shares the stage with the Belgrade Philharmonic, the first orchestra in Serbia. Our Serbian partner city Novi Sad, European Capital of Culture 2022, has also invited us to a performance of the Beethoven marathon - an act of living international understanding.
