We are exceptionally proud of three Mascarade Emerging Artists - Armenian baritone Grisha Martirosyan, Irish mezzo-soprano Aebh Kelly and British tenor Aaron Godfrey-Mayes - who, following a year of training at the Mascarade Opera Studio in Florence, were awarded the top three prizes - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively - at the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition in Dublin on 30 August 2022.

In order of appearance:

Grisha Martirosyan (15:35 - 31:35), Winner of the 1st Prize, Audience Prize and the Dame Joan Sutherland Prize for the singer with the most potential aged 25 and under.
 
Aaron Godfrey-Mayes (52:55 - 1:07:35), Winner of the 3rd Prize and the Wil Keune Prize for the best performance of a Mozart aria in any round of the Competition.
 
Aebh Kelly (1:33:50 - 1:48:50), Winner of the 2nd Prize, the Dublin Song Series Prize for the best performance of a song in any language in the semi-finals and the Dermot Troy Prize for the highest placed Irish singer.

The singers performed with Ireland's National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Laurent Wagner.

Jane Carty (Chair), conductor Richard Bonynge AC CBE, mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught, General Director of Seattle Opera Christina Scheppelmann, Artistic Director of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House David Gowland, Casting Director at Staatsoper Hamburg Isla Mundell-Perkins, and Artistic Advisor at the Metropolitan Opera Jonathan Friend.
