When classical music returns to the Alte Oper at the beginning of the year, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie will be the first orchestra to take a seat on the stage in the Great Hall. The members call themselves “Orchestra of the Future” and regularly prove in their program what they mean by that: listening to thematic connections and daring sound experiments is fundamental to orchestral work. The Young German Philharmonic Orchestra makes it audible in their New Year's program that even contemporary music and folklore are not opposites.
