Mozart hat in Salzburg in verschiedener Weise Abendmusiken gestaltet. Sein Dienst am Hof des Salzburger Fürstbischofs verlangte regelmäßige Abendmusiken in dessen Residenz direkt gegenüber vom Dom. Diese Konzerte wurden mit einer Sinfonie eröffnet und endeten mit einer weiteren Sinfonie. Dazwischen gab es solistische Einlagen in Form von Arien und Solokonzerten. Als eine andere Form von Abendmusik komponierte Mozart für Honoratioren der Stadt eigene abendfüllende Werke in Form von Serenaden. Die drei Schlosskonzerte widmen sich diesen verschiedenen abendlichen Musikveranstaltungen. Sie rekonstruieren zwei mögliche Konzerte mit Sinfonien und Arien Mozarts, die am erzbischöflichen Hof stattfanden. In einem weiteren Konzert erklingt Mozarts Haffner-Serenade. Mozart schuf sie für den Polterabend von Sigmund Haffners Tochter Maria Elisabeth mit dem Tiroler Wirtssohn Franz Xaver Späth, der am 21. Juli 1776 stattfand. Für heutige Polterabende wäre diese Musik viel zu schön!

Mozart arranged evening music in various ways in Salzburg. His service at the court of the Salzburg prince-bishop required regular evening music in his residence directly opposite the cathedral. These concerts opened with a symphony and ended with another symphony. In between there were solo interludes in the form of arias and solo concerts. As another form of evening music, Mozart composed his own full-length works in the form of serenades for notables of the city. The three palace concerts are dedicated to these different evening music events. They reconstruct two possible concerts with symphonies and arias by Mozart that took place at the archbishop's court. Another concert features Mozart's Haffner Serenade. Mozart created it for the hen party of Sigmund Haffner's daughter Maria Elisabeth with the Tyrolean innkeeper's son Franz Xaver Späth, which took place on July 21, 1776. This music would be far too beautiful for today's bachelorette parties!
