An der Bochumer Straße im Gelsenkirchener Stadtteil Ückendorf hatten Direktoren ihre Villen. Kneipen, Restaurants und Geschäfte blühten – später war die Straße ein Sorgenkind der Stadt. Nun ist sie Hotspot der Kreativen. Hier liegt auch die Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche, einer der spektakulärsten Kirchenbauten der frühen Moderne aus dem Jahr 1929. Aus ihr ist nun ein außergewöhnlicher Veranstaltungsort geworden – genau richtig, um am Sonntagvormittag musikalische Entdeckungen bei Programmen rund um Werke Mozarts zu machen und bei „NPW persönlich“ unseren Musiker*innen näher zu kommen.

Directors had their villas on Bochumer Strasse in the Ückendorf district of Gelsenkirchen. Pubs, restaurants and shops flourished - later the street was a problem child of the city. Now it is a hotspot for creative people. The Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche is also located here, one of the most spectacular early modernist church buildings from 1929. It has now become an extraordinary venue - just right for making musical discoveries on Sunday mornings with programs based around Mozart's works and with " NPW personally” to get closer to our musicians.
