What's going on with the Schumanns today? Only yesterday Robert Schumann was in the best of spirits. Today he comes home soaking wet, just as if he had bathed in the Rhine. It's cold outside though. Oskar, a good friend of Schumann's children, has often wondered what is really wrong with the father of his friends, his moods changing so strongly and above all so quickly. But the music he composes is simply divine and captivates everyone. And Clara Schumann is a brilliant and celebrated pianist. Is Schumann jealous of his wife or is there more to his strong mood swings? Oskar wants to get to the bottom of this and above all he wants a lot more

Was ist heute nur wieder bei den Schumanns los? Gestern noch war Robert Schumann bester Laune. Heute kommt er klatschnass nach Hause, ganz so, als wenn er im Rhein gebadet hätte. Dabei ist es draußen kalt. Oskar, ein guter Freund der Schumann’schen Kinder, hat sich schon oft gefragt, was dem Vater seiner Freunde wirklich fehlt, so stark und vor allem schnell wechseln dessen Launen. Aber die Musik, die er komponiert, ist einfach göttlich und zieht alle in ihren Bann. Und Clara Schumann ist eine brillante und gefeierte Pianistin.
