Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860 - 1941) was a colorful personality. The internationally acclaimed pianist was just as at home on the world's concert stages as he was on the political stage: after the First World War, he even served as Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of his country for a while and campaigned for Poland's independence. His most famous work, the Piano Concerto from 1888, can be experienced with Claire Huangci. The New York-born pianist of Chinese descent is winner of the International Chopin Competitions in Darmstadt and Miami (2009/2010), second prize winner at the renowned ARD music competition (2011) and winner of first prize and the Mozart Prize at the Concours Géza Anda (2018) .
