From September 2021, Junichi Hirokami, one of Japan's leading conductors, was appointed as the new post "Friend of JPO (Artistic Advisor)" of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. After serving as the ``permanent conductor'' for nearly 10 years, he will finally return to the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. Having said that, he is a maestro who has performed at the regular concerts in Tokyo every year, so it must be familiar to everyone. And this time, I will work on my long-awaited opera. The subject is Leoncavallo's "Jester", a masterpiece of Italian Verismo opera. Mr. Hirokami, who also teaches at Tokyo College of Music, plans to actively recruit young singers who audition. Please look forward to this unique opportunity to discover the next generation of stars.

2021年9月より日本フィルの新しいポスト「フレンド・オブ・JPO（芸術顧問）」に就任した日本を代表する指揮者広上淳一。かつて10年近く「正指揮者」を務めた彼が、いよいよ日本フィルに戻ってきます。とは言っても、これまでも毎年必ず東京定期演奏会に出演しているマエストロですから、皆様にとってもおなじみのことでしょう。そして今回は、念願のオペラに取り組みます。題材はイタリア・ヴェリズモ・オペラの傑作レオンカヴァッロの《道化師》。東京音楽大学でも教鞭をとる広上氏らしく、歌手はオーディションした若手を積極的に迎える予定です。次世代のスターを見出すまたとない機会をどうぞご期待ください。
