According to the Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov, who was born in 1937, everything was already there and only needs to be recreated – reborn. With his work »Epitaph«, written in 1999, the last symphony concert of the 2022 / 2023 season opens, after which the great Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff is remembered once more. The pianist Anika Vavić from Belgrade presents his famous Piano Concerto No. 2 in the year of his 150th birthday and 80th death. Almost at the same time, Mieczysław Karłowicz composed his Symphony in E minor, which describes the rebirth of an artist after his physical and artistic annihilation. Andrey Boreyko, chief conductor of the Warsaw National Philharmonic, brings this expressive and highly romantic work,

Nach Auffassung des 1937 geborenen ukrainischen Komponisten Valentin Silvestrov war alles schon da und muss nur wiedererschaffen – wiedergeboren werden. Mit seinem 1999 entstandenen Werk »Epitaph« eröffnet das letzte Sinfoniekonzert der Saison 2022 / 2023, um danach noch einmal an den großen russischen Komponisten Sergej Rachmaninow zu erinnern. Die aus Belgrad stammende Pianistin Anika Vavić präsentiert im Jahr seines 150. Geburts- und 80. Todestages sein berühmtes 2. Klavierkonzert. Fast zeitgleich dazu komponierte Mieczysław Karłowicz seine Sinfonie e-moll, welche die Wiedergeburt eines Künstlers nach dessen körperlicher und künstlerischer Vernichtung schildert. Andrey Boreyko, Chefdirigent der Nationalphilharmonie Warschau, bringt dieses ausdrucksstarke und hoch romantische Werk, welches mit einem strahlenden Choral endet – zur Erstaufführung in Halle.
