Dies irae in opera The Easter holidays and Good Friday itself are among the most important for Christians around the world. This event seems to have grown with our lives, and so almost without distinction most of us think about our actions and our lives. Not only literary, visual and film artists, but also important personalities of the opera and music world in general also considered the spirituality of their artistic and personal life. Thus many worldly works were born, but with a deep spiritual message, which we call more humane today. Such works include the operas Don Carlos and The Force of Fate by G. Verdi, as well as his other works such as Otello, Troubadour, Aida, and Berlioz's Requiem, Wagner's Tristan and Isolde. Mutual tension and the struggle between good and evil resonate in both operatic gems on this topic - in Boit's Mephistopheles and Gounod's Faust (and Margaret), content-related works. Dies irae - the day of anger will be, through these musical gems, also a day of overcoming sadness and looking to the future. The solo parts will be performed by top soloists of the SND Opera, who will be accompanied by the orchestra and choir of our first opera stage under the baton of the prominent conductor Ondrej Lenárd. The unusual opera of the aging master Verdi is one of the most popular works of world opera literature. It was created to order, which came from exotic Cairo and was to be introduced as part of the ceremony at the opening of the Suez Canal. Although it did not go according to plan and the work was heard a little later, the ceremonial character remained unchanged. Aida's music meets the spectacular luster of state and military ceremonies with tense moments of emotional conflicts between the central protagonists and the outward splendor of mass scenes with choirs and ballet numbers with intimately tuned passages of lyrical personal confessions. Aida is not only an engaging romantic story with captivating music, but also a narrative monumental fresco that attracts unchanging eyes like ears.
