The opera "Aida" in three acts is one of the best and most modern works of the brilliant composer Giuseppe Verdi. In "Aida" the melodic talent of the author, the brightness of symphonic writing, dramatic sharpness and bold innovation are manifested with particular force.
The performance attracts not only by the perfection of the musical form, the sincerity of genuine human passions, the grandeur of the ensembles, but also by the high humanistic orientation of the whole work.
"Aida" was written by Giuseppe Verdi by order of the Egyptian Khedive in connection with the opening of the Suez Canal. The opera is based on an ancient Egyptian legend deciphered in one of the papyri by the French Egyptologist Marryat, who contributed to the creation of the opera's libretto.
The first performance of Aida took place in Cairo (Egypt) in 1871, but to this day, thanks to its amazing musical and dramatic qualities, the opera retains its freshness and attractiveness, being one of the listeners' favorite operas.
On the stage of the Kyrgyz Opera and Ballet Theater "Aida" was first staged in 1960 by a remarkable group of directors - directors V. Shakhrai and V. Vasiliev, conductor A. Dzhumakhmatov and artist A. Arefiev.
