Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was twelve years old when he composed Bastien und Bastienne , already his second opera. The young prodigy frequents, like Haydn and Gluck , the house of a rich Viennese woman who has just married a doctor who has just graduated, Dr. Mesmer – the same one who will invent “animal magnetism” ten years later. It was he who commissioned from Mozart in 1768 a Singspiel adapted from an international lyrical success, Le Devin de village by Jean-Jacques Rousseau.. The one-act opera tells the story of Bastienne, a shepherdess in the throes of love, convinced that Bastien is forgetting her for an elegant lady. The old shepherd Colas makes a point of throwing again into the arms of his beautiful this butterfly attracted by deceptive fires. Mathilde Dromardrevisits the pastoral and the make-up of stars to transpose it under the big top of a circus. No green meadows, no white lambs but a lion cub track! While Bastienne takes care of the beasts, Bastien, more at ease in the spotlight, shines as a trapeze artist-acrobat. Colas takes the costume of Mr. Loyal… that's all? No, because Mathilde Dromard is above all an actress and creator of a clownish character, she thus introduces the role of Séraphine, a female clown who will help the naive Bastienne to take charge of her life. Do not resign yourself, send to hell the injunction to kindness that weighs on the karma of girls, achieve your goals! But that's not all, since this participative opera offers the public the opportunity to sing at the top of their voices, guided by Éric Pisani and his quintet that looks like a circus fanfare.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart a douze ans lorsqu’il compose Bastien und Bastienne, déjà son deuxième opéra. Le jeune prodige fréquente, tout comme Haydn et Gluck, la maison d’une riche viennoise qui vient d’épouser un médecin fraîchement diplômé, le Dr Mesmer – celui-là même qui inventera dix ans plus tard le « magnétisme animal ». C’est lui qui commande à Mozart en 1768 un Singspiel adapté d’un succès lyrique international, Le Devin de village de Jean-Jacques Rousseau. L’opéra en un acte conte l’histoire de Bastienne, bergère en plein chagrin d’amour, persuadée que Bastien l’oublie pour une dame élégante. Le vieux berger Colas se fait fort de jeter à nouveau dans les bras de sa belle ce papillon attiré par des feux trompeurs. Mathilde Dromard revisite la pastorale et la maquille d’étoiles pour la transposer sous le chapiteau d’un cirque. Pas de vertes prairies, pas d’agneaux blancs mais une piste aux lionceaux ! Alors que Bastienne soigne les fauves, Bastien, plus à l’aise sous les projecteurs, brille comme trapéziste-acrobate. Colas prend l’habit de Monsieur Loyal… c’est tout ? Non, car Mathilde Dromard est avant tout comédienne et créatrice d’un personnage clownesque, elle introduit ainsi le rôle de Séraphine, clown féminin qui aidera la naïve Bastienne à prendre sa vie en main. Ne pas se résigner, envoyer au diable l’injonction à la gentillesse qui pèse sur le karma des filles, parvenir à ses fins ! Mais ce n’est pas tout, puisque cet opéra participatif offre au public l’opportunité de chanter à pleine voix, guidés par Éric Pisani et son quintette à l’allure de fanfare de cirque
