BAT'S REVENGE is not the best operetta. It is exactly an operetta, a masterpiece of this genre - with these words Felix Weingartner, an Austrian conductor, composer and pianist from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and a great expert in operetta, described the work of Johann Strauss II. If we add to these words the authority of Gustav Mahler, who personally conducted REVENGE OF THE BAT , thus providing an immortal model for all future interpretations of it, no better recommendations can be found.
The staging of the Grand Theater in Łódź has at least two additional advantages: the master Julian Tuwim, the author of the Polish translation of the libretto and the producer of the production, Giorgio Madia- a world-renowned artist, author of excellent stage visions, such as in HOFFMANN'S TALES or in the well-known Łódź audience with the sparkling wit of KOPCIUSZK. Johann Strauss
himself , the master of the Viennese waltz, showed in REVENGE his great sense of humor, instrumental wit and musical characteristics of the characters - heroes who, in this extremely funny, but not nonsense puzzle of events and characters, do their best to introduce the viewer to the best mood. Finally, it is Strauss's "prodigy" with a colorful list of hits, each of which is a musical and vocal gem, an occasion for virtuoso performances for performers. And if masters take on a masterpiece, including those known for their conducting mastery and sense of humor
Tadeusz Kozłowski , there is only one solution: you must witness this event!
