At this special song matinee, various musical and literary narratives are movingly interwoven: Robert Schumann's cycle with the texts of Heinrich Heine, works by the Bonn composer Johanna Kinkel and excerpts from the strongly autobiographical novella "Tonio Kröger" by Thomas Mann about the longing of a artist for an unattainable love. The interlacing of the three love stories creates a multi-layered play about the central basic constant of human existence.
