Beethoven's ninth symphony: Symphony No.9 in D Minor, op. 125

Festive concert under the auspices of the President of the European Commission  José Manuel Barroso, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Athens and the Cultural Foundation EUROPAMUSICALE on the occasion of the Greek Presidency of the E.U.

The Athens State Orchestra, in collaboration with the Cultural Foundation EUROPAMUSICALE, announces with great pleasure a festive concert on the occasion of the Greek Presidency of the European Union. Distinguished singers of international reputation and the excellent  Bamberg Symphony Choir combine forces with the Athens State Orchestra under the musical direction of Chief Conductor Vassilis Christopoulos, in order to present Beethoven’s magnificent Ninth Symphony, a symphonic masterpiece that represents the highest ideals of Humanity and Fraternity.

Εορταστική συναυλία υπό την αιγίδα του Προέδρου της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής κ.Ζοζέ Μανουέλ Μπαρρόζο, σε συνεργασία με την Πρεσβεία της Ομοσπονδιακής Δημοκρατίας της Γερμανίας στην Αθήνα και με το Ίδρυμα EUROPAMUSICALE,  επ' ευκαιρία της Ελληνικής Προεδρίας της Ε.Ε.

Η Κρατική Ορχήστρα Αθηνών, σε συνεργασία με το Πολιτιστικό Ίδρυμα EUROPAMUSICALE, αναγγέλλει με ιδιαίτερη χαρά την πραγματοποίηση μίας μεγάλης πανηγυρικής συναυλίας, με αφορμή την Ελληνική Προεδρία της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Εκλεκτοί λυρικοί καλλιτέχνες διεθνούς ακτινοβολίας και η εξαιρετική Χορωδία της Συμφωνικής της Βαμβέργης, υπό την μουσική διεύθυνση του Βασίλη Χριστόπουλου, συνεργάζονται με την Κ.Ο.Α. για να παρουσιάσουν στο κοινό την μεγαλειώδη Ενάτη Συμφωνία του Μπετόβεν. Το αθάνατο αυτό συμφωνικό αριστούργημα αποτελεί αναμφίβολα ένα έργο-σύμβολο των υψηλότερων ιδανικών της ανθρωπότητας και της συναδέλφωσης των λαών.
