Anfang des Jahres feierte Dirigentenlegende Jiri Belohlavek seinen 70. Geburtstag. Nach einem Auftritt mit seiner Tschechischen Philharmonie im Frühjahr kehrt die große Autorität für slawische Töne jetzt mit den Wiener Symphonikern ins Wiener Konzerthaus zu einer zweiten Feier zurück. Am Programm - wie konnte es anders sein - Musik aus seiner Heimat: Dvoraks Symphonie Nr. 9 e-moll op. 95 "Aus der neuen Welt" und Janaceks Orchestervorspiel zur Oper "Jenufa" flankieren Prokofjews Drittes Klavierkonzert, mit dem russischen Pianisten Nikolai Lugansky, einem Schützling Belohlaveks, als Solisten. Dieses Konzert wird live auf dem Klassikportal www.myfidelio.at übertragen. Anmerkung: Dieses Konzert wird im Rahmen einer Kooperation zwischen den Wiener Symphonikern und der Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft durchgeführt.

At the start of the year, legendary conductor Jiri Belohlavek celebrated his 70th birthday. After a performance with his Czech Philharmonic in the spring, the leading authority for Slavic sounds will return to the Wiener Konzerthaus for a second celebration with the Wiener Symphoniker. On the programme music from his homeland: Janacek‘s orchestral overture to the opera "Jenufa" and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor op. 95 "From the New World" and start and finish the concert respectively. Between them the Russian pianist Nikolai Lugansky, a protégé of Belohlavek plays the solo part in Prokofiev's Third Piano Concerto. The entire concert will be broadcasted live over the Internet on www.myfidelio.at. Please note: This concert is presented as part of a cooperation between the Wiener Symphoniker and the Wiener Konzerthaus Society.
