Benefit concert »Help for Ukraine«: Concert Various

" For more than a month people in the middle of Europe have been experiencing the hell of war with all its dramatic effects. With its direct connection to Volkshilfe in Czernowitz, Volkshilfe Kärnten has the opportunity to help people in the war zone, " says Volkshilfe director Jürgen Pfeiler , who  initiated the concert for peace .

On the part of the state, cultural advisor and governor Dr. Peter Kaiser states: » What is happening in the Ukraine shocks us more every day and every day we are called upon to live solidarity, humanity and helpfulness. We can only alleviate the suffering a little, we can help people directly who have to leave their homes, who are traveling into the unknown, who are full of fear for their families, who have to do without, give up and leave behind. Every initiative helps local people in need, displaced people, whom we offer accommodation and protection in an emergency situation. This is how this concert should be seen.«

Mayor Christian Scheider is pleased with the commitment to the people of Ukraine: "The population and in particular the city of Klagenfurt have put themselves at the service of a good cause to support the people of Ukraine and our twin city of Czernowitz in these extremely difficult times with relief goods on site as well as with donations in kind here in Klagenfurt. I therefore very much welcome the fact that events of a cultural nature, such as the Volkshilfe charity concert in the Klagenfurt City Theater, are also being held for the benefit of people in need. I would like to thank you very much for this commitment.«

»I am particularly pleased to be able to organize a benefit event for the Ukraine together with Volkshilfe, the state of Carinthia and the city of Klagenfurt. The focus will be on Ukrainian and Russian music, which will primarily be performed by Ukrainian and Russian artists together. War unites a nation through hate. Art tries to unite people through love. I hope that the concert will be proof and a statement for humanity.«
Stadttheater director Aron Stiehl is convinced.

“Music connects and expresses what words sometimes cannot. The benefit evening should show our solidarity and that peace can be the only answer! Set an example together and help, ” says Klagenfurt City Councilor for Culture Mag. Franz Petritz .
