With our new "Best of Classical Music" concert format, you can immerse yourself in the most famous works of classical music. We begin with a presentation that briefly introduces the work and provides listening tips. Then you can enjoy the selected symphony in a short concert. Afterwards, you are invited to join us at the bar of the Kulturpalast. Our moderator will be in conversation with the conductor on a small stage in the room. There is no musicology on the agenda - Malte would rather lead us into the personal world of our respective guests. Relax over a glass of wine and listen to exciting insights from the world of classical music.

To the concert:

One of the unsolved mysteries of music history, high tempo and a death motif. All this and more can be found in Beethoven's Seventh Symphony, considered by many to be his most cheerful and positive. No wonder, since the first movement already features dance-like rhythms, and the musicians really go for it in the last movement. Some parts of the first movement are so similar to a Mozart symphony that Beethoven did not even know, that one suspects another model. But which one? That remains a mystery to this day. The slow movement is also mysterious, with a haunting motive that evokes mourning and death. It is not easily forgotten.

Mit unserem neuen Konzertformat "Best of Klassik" tauchen Sie in die bekanntesten Werke klassischer Musik. Mit einer Moderation zu Beginn führen wir kurz in das Werk ein und geben Hörhinweise. Anschließend können Sie die von uns ausgewählte Sinfonie im Kurzkonzert genießen. Danach begrüßen wir Sie gern and der Bar im Kulturpalast. Hier kommt unser Moderator mit der Dirigentin oder dem Dirigenten auf einer kleinen Bühne im Raum ins Gespräch. Dabei steht keine Musikwissenschaft auf dem Plan - vielmehr möchte Malte uns in die persönliche Welt unserer jeweiligen Gäste mitnehmen. Lauschen Sie entspannt bei einem Glas Wein spannenden Einblicken aus der Welt der Klassik.

Zum Konzert:

Eins der ungelösten Rätsel der Musikgeschichte, hohes Tempo und ein Todesmotiv. Das alles und noch viel mehr steckt in Beethovens Siebter Sinfonie, die viele für seine heiterste und positivste halten. Kein Wunder, sind doch schon im ersten Satz tänzerische Rhythmen zu hören und im letzten Satz geben die Musikerinnen und Musiker so richtig Vollgas. Einige Teile des ersten Satzes ähneln so sehr einer Mozartsinfonie, die Beethoven aber gar nicht kannte, dass man ein anderes Vorbild vermutet. Aber welches? Das ist bis heute ein Geheimnis. Geheimnisvoll ist auch der langsame Satz mit einem eindringlichen Motiv, das an Trauer und Tod erinnert. Ihn vergisst man nicht so schnell.
