Feared as cold-blooded murderers, idealized as inseparable lovers: Bonnie and Clyde, the famous gangster couple, made headlines in all American newspapers while they were still alive, but after their death they became almost legends - not least thanks to the ballad The Story of , written by Bonnie herself Bonnie and Clyde. But who were Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, who kept America in suspense with their robberies, killing at least fourteen people and barely dying in their mid-twenties in a hail of police bullets, really? Following the most important stages of her life, the musical traces the metamorphosis of the teenagers growing up in poor circumstances into a glamorous criminal duo with jazzy, frivolous melodies and bitter charm: Bonnie's dream of becoming famous, which she had cherished as a schoolgirl, and Clyde's urge to break out of the life in the slums of West Dallas, to their encounter, the first murder and Bonnie's help in Clyde's escape from prison, to their escape across the United States. The story of two people who ruthlessly pursue their hunger for real life against themselves and others. The Theater Bielefeld presents the German-language premiere of the Broadway musical: You can expect rousing songs, lively dialogues and an encounter with an immortal myth.
