Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 is a breathtaking journey through the creation of the world. The work unfolds in six movements that depict the universe and humanity. Successively, primal forces, flora, fauna, man, angels and love come into play. With a duration of almost two hours, this symphony for large orchestra, several choirs and solo alto is Mahler's most extensive work and one of the longest in the symphonic concert repertoire. Raw, vital and full of energy. It is no coincidence that Mahler wrote this symphony in his composing hut in the Austrian countryside, surrounded by the breathtaking Alps and unspoilt nature. Due to its gigantic size, this work is rarely performed. Perfectly suited to Kazushi Ono, the Brussels Philharmonic, the Vlaams Radiokoor and the Children’s Choir of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen.

Gustav Mahlers Derde Symfonie is een adembenemende reis door de schepping van de wereld. Het werk ontvouwt zich in zes delen die het universum en de mens verbeelden. Achtereenvolgens komen oerkrachten, de flora, de fauna, de mens, engelen en de liefde aan bod. Met een duur van bijna twee uur, is deze symfonie voor groot orkest, verschillende koren en solo alt Mahlers meest uitgebreide werk en één van de langste in het symfonische concertrepertoire. Ruw, vitaal en vol energie. Het is niet toevallig dat Mahler deze symfonie schreef in zijn componeerhut op het Oostenrijkse platteland, omgeven door de adembenemende Alpen en de ongerepte natuur. Vanwege zijn gigantische omvang wordt dit werk slechts zelden uitgevoerd. Een kolfje naar de hand van Kazushi Ono, het Brussels Philharmonic, het Vlaams Radiokoor en het Kinderkoor van Opera Ballet Vlaanderen.

La Symphonie n°3 de Gustav Mahler est une étonnante exploration de la création du monde. Les six mouvements de l'œuvre, représentant l'univers et l'humanité, évoquent consécutivement les puissances élémentaires, la flore, la faune, l'humain, les anges et l'amour. D'une durée de près de deux heures, cette symphonie pour grand orchestre, plusieurs chœurs et alto solo est l'œuvre de la plus grande envergure composée par Mahler, et l'une des plus longues du répertoire de concert symphonique. Il n'est pas étonnant que Mahler l'ait écrite dans sa cabane à la campagne autrichienne, en pleine nature au pied des Alpes impressionnants. En raison de ses dimensions gigantesques, cette symphonie n'est que rarement mise à l'affiche. Le défi est relevé par Kazushi Ono, le Brussels Philharmonic, le Vlaams Radiokoor et le Chœur d'Enfants d'Opera Ballet Vlaanderen.
