Around 80 singers belong to one of Hamburg’s most celebrated choirs: the Carl-Philipp-Emanuel Bach Choir, named after Johann Sebastian Bach’s most famous son. Since 1998, the choir has been active as a freelance choir, but its history dates back to the time when its eponym was still alive. Today the choir devotes itself to an exceptionally wide repertoire, from the Baroque to the modern period, from oratorios to a cappella music. Strong collaborations unite the choir with the Symphoniker Hamburg and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Hansestadt Lübeck as well as the conductors Philippe Jordan, Andrey Boreyko, Jeffrey Tate and Peter Ruzicka.

Gut 80 Sängerinnen und Sänger gehören zu einem der renommiertesten Konzertchöre Hamburgs: dem Carl-Philipp-Emanuel-Bach-Chor, benannt nach dem berühmtesten Bach-Sohn. Seit 1998 ist der Chor als freier Konzertchor tätig, seine Historie reicht allerdings bis in die Zeit seines Namensgebers zurück. Heute widmet er sich einem außergewöhnlich breiten Repertoire, vom Barock bis in die Moderne, vom Oratorium bis zur A cappella Musik. Enge Kooperationen verbinden den Chor mit den Hamburger Symphonikern und dem Philharmonischen Orchester der Hansestadt Lübeck sowie den Dirigenten Philippe Jordan, Andrey Boreyko, Jeffrey Tate und Peter Ruzicka.
