The "Tarantino" of opera directing, the Catalan director Calixto Bieito, presents the reality of the stories in his performances with cutting edge and therefore shockingly provocative. What would not fit this directorial style better than Carmen, which also stirs up crazy emotions and emotions? The director places the opera set in 19th-century Seville in post-Franco Spain, where he portrays a wild and cruel world at a high level of realism - keeping away from it the cliché of folkloristic flamenco. His production has traveled all over the world, and now it will finally arrive in Hungary, and the domestic audience will be able to see a Bieito production for the first time.

Az operarendezés „Tarantinója”, a katalán rendező, Calixto Bieito előadásaiban a történetek valóságát húsba vágó élességgel és ezért megrázóan provokatív módon mutatja be. Mi sem passzolna jobban ehhez a rendezői stílushoz, mint a szintén őrült indulatokat és érzelmeket megmozgató Carmen? A rendező a 19. századi Sevillában játszódó operát a Franco utáni Spanyolországba helyezi, ahol a realizmus magas fokán ábrázol egy vad és kegyetlen világot – távol tartva tőle a folklorisztikus flamenco kliséjét. A produkciója az egész világot bejárta, most végre Magyarországra is elérkezik, a hazai közönség pedig először láthat Bieito-rendezést.
