Introduction to »Così fan tutte« by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Two happily in love couples find themselves in an experiment: Don Alfonso doubts the fidelity of the woman itself and wants to convince Guglielmo and Ferrando that their fiancés are not to be excluded from it either. In disguise, the two are supposed to try to seduce each other's girlfriend. What begins with a harmless bet soon throws all certainties overboard. “As a human being, you always want things to be permanent. There is the utopia of a paradisiacal state in which one is not bothered with questions of guilt or innocence«, director Christof Loy formulates the timeless core of the opera. In his award-winning production, he looks at the irrepressible nature of love with a keen sense of Mozart's music and situation comedy.
