Adepte du théâtre musical, qui lui permet de toucher un large public, Carl Orff décide de mettre en musique le conte des frères Grimm La Lune. L’histoire un peu naïve de cette lune volée puis découpée en quartiers, qui sème la zizanie aux enfers avant d’être rapatriée au ciel par Saint-Pierre, stimule l’imagination du compositeur. Achevée juste avant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, l’œuvre est une critique à peine voilée des égoïstes qui font passer leur intérêt en premier. Ce « petit théâtre du monde en un acte » est créé le 5 février 1939, à Munich, sous la direction musicale de Clemens Krauss et dans la mise en scène de Rudolf Hartmann. Fusionnant musique, paroles et dramaturgie, La Lune est d’une grande modernité rythmique et vocale.
Le metteur en scène James Bonas et le vidéaste et illustrateur Grégoire Pont sont à nouveau réunis pour cette œuvre … emportant les spectateurs dans un véritable tourbillon émotionnel !

A fan of musical theatre, which allows him to reach a wide audience, Carl Orff decides to set the Brothers Grimm tale The Moon to music . The somewhat naive story of this stolen moon then cut into quarters, which sows discord in hell before being repatriated to heaven by Saint-Pierre, stimulates the composer's imagination. Completed just before World War II, the work is a thinly veiled critique of selfish people who put their own interests first. This "little theater of the world in one act" was created on February 5, 1939, in Munich, under the musical direction of Clemens Krauss and in the staging of Rudolf Hartmann. Merging music, words and dramaturgy, La Lune is of great rhythmic and vocal modernity.
The director James Bonas and the videographer and illustrator Grégoire Pont are once again united for this work... taking the spectators into a real emotional whirlwind!
