The New Year's Eve concert of the Staatskapelle with its chief conductor has developed into a small, fine tradition. For the fifth time in a row, he and his musicians are ending the old year with a bang, this time with a concert performance of Emmerich Kálmán's popular operetta "Die Csárdásfürstin", which is one of the undisputed masterpieces of the 20th century, not only for the self-confessed operetta lover Thielemann.
