Avec les vingt-trois musiciens du Concert de la Loge dirigés depuis son violon par Julien Chauvin, cinq chanteurs lyriques, un comédien chanteur et un choeur de trente participants, le metteur en scène Christophe Rulhes aborde l’un des plus célèbres opéras de Mozart.

S’échappant des rives du XVIIIe siècle, il installe l’intrigue dans une grande maison en bord de mer. Dans de somptueux paysages, entre Orient et Occident, se nouent les relations de Constance et de Blondine, retenues par Selim, homme étrange et influent. Belmonte et Pedrillo mettent tout en oeuvre pour libérer ces deux femmes, malgré l’opposition grotesque d’Osmin, le gardien de la maison. Entre chant lyrique et jeu théâtral parlé (comme le veut le genre du « singspiel »), Mozart fait tourbillonner les passions qui agitent ses personnages. Ici, les femmes ont le premier rôle, et le despote oriental n’est finalement pas celui que l’on croyait. Un jeu sur instruments anciens, de la vidéo sur grands écrans pour une évocation paysagère et cinématographique de l’intrigue et un suivi en direct des mouvements des interprètes et des musiciens, tout concourt à nous emporter dans les trois actes de ce nouvel opéra produit par la co[opéra]tive*.

With the twenty-three musicians of the Concert de la Loge conducted from his violin by Julien Chauvin, five lyrical singers, an actor-singer and a choir of thirty participants, the director Christophe Rulhes tackles one of Mozart's most famous operas.

Escaping from the shores of the 18th century, he sets up the plot in a large house by the sea. influential. Belmonte and Pedrillo make every effort to free these two women, despite the grotesque opposition of Osmin, the guardian of the house. Between lyrical singing and spoken theatrical acting (as the genre of the “singspiel” demands), Mozart swirls the passions that agitate his characters.
