Komický singspiel Únos ze serailu napsal pětadvacetiletý Mozart v němčině na objednávku císaře Josefa II. pro Burgtheater ve Vídni, a to vzápětí po italské opeře seria – Idomeneo. Je to hudební fraška, ovlivněná dobovou módou Orientu.

 

V díle je patrný také doznívající vliv turecké expanze do v Evropě. Hudebně je to však čistě zázračná Mozartova kompozice, která otevírá srdce génia – bohatostí árií, dvou sborů a komorních čísel, plných láskyplného citu i mladého šibalství. V tomto jediném díle použil Mozart triangl a činely, aby zvýraznil turecký charakter hudby. Olomoucká premiéra je zároveň i oslavou 240. výročí od uvedení, které proběhlo 16. července 1782. Režie se ujala uznávaná režisérka Andrea Hlinková.

The comic singspiel Abduction from the Seraglio was written by the twenty-five-year-old Mozart in German on the order of Emperor Joseph II. for the Burgtheater in Vienna, right after the Italian opera seria - Idomeneo. It is a musical farce, influenced by the period fashion of the Orient.

 

The fading influence of Turkish expansion into Europe is also evident in the work. Musically, however, it is a purely miraculous composition by Mozart, which opens the heart of genius - the richness of arias, two choirs and chamber numbers, full of loving feeling and youthful mischief. In this single piece, Mozart used the triangle and cymbals to emphasize the Turkish character of the music. The Olomouc premiere is also a celebration of the 240th anniversary of the premiere, which took place on July 16, 1782. The acclaimed director Andrea Hlinková took over the direction.
