Στον πρωταγωνιστικό ρόλο η επική σοπράνο Christine Goerke, ως η πολεμίστρια θεά Μπρουνχίλντε, που η διαμάχη της με τα θνητά δίδυμα αδέλφια Ζίγκμουντ και Ζιγκλίντε, που αποδίδουν ο Stuart Skelton και η Eva-Maria Westbroek, την οδηγεί σε ένα ταξίδι από τη Βαλχάλα στην ανθρωπότητα επί γης. Διευθύνει ο Philippe Jordan.

Back on the programme after a long absence, Live in HD the opera Die Walküre, the second installment of Wagner’s Ring cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen.  Heroic soprano Christine Goerke stars as the warrior goddess Brünnhilde, whose encounter with the mortal twins Siegmund and Sieglinde, sung by Stuart Skelton and Eva-Maria Westbroek, leads her on a journey from Valhalla to earthbound humanity. Philippe Jordan conducts.
