This production has been performed in Liège (Belgium) in 2010 and 2015, in Sassari (Sardegna, Italy) in 2016, In Bergamo, Como, Pavia, Brescia and Modena (Italy) in 2017, in Avignon and Versailles in 2019 and 2020. A Dvd was published in 2021 by Chateau de Versailles Spectacles.

THE MAGIC FLUTE (DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE) by Roussat & Lubek - teaser

In 1791 at the Theater auf der Wieden, in a suburb of Vienna, Mozart gave the premiere of his Singspiel Die Zauberflöte. The libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder, who is also directing in his own theater, wants to speak to a popular audience in his own language. Thanks to the dramatic and dreamlike qualities of the work, and to Mozart's brilliant music, it exceeded one hundred performances in one year, and its success has grown to this day. But to captivate young and old, music lovers and novice audiences, the asset of Mozart and Schikaneder was to speak to the spectators in their own language - and not in Italian like the court opera. This is what this production offers, in an entirely French version,

Opéra en deux actes sur un livret d'Emanuel Schikaneder, créé en 1791 à Vienne.

En 1791 au Theater auf der Wieden, dans un faubourg de Vienne, Mozart donne la première de son Singspiel Die Zauberflöte. Le livret d'Emanuel Schikaneder, qui signe également la mise en scène dans son propre théâtre, veut parler à un public populaire dans sa propre langue. Grâce aux qualités dramatiques et oniriques de l'œuvre, et à la géniale musique de Mozart, elle dépasse cent représentations en un an, et son succès est allé croissant jusqu'à nos jours. Mais pour passionner petits et grands, mélomanes et public novice, l'atout de Mozart et Schikaneder était de parler aux spectateurs dans leur propre langue - et non pas en italien comme l'opéra de la cour. C'est ce que propose cette production, dans une version intégralement française, mise en scène par Cécile Roussat et Julien Lubek, et dirigée par Hervé Niquet avec une équipe de solistes pleinement investis dans leurs rôles de chanteurs-comédiens : et flûte alors, pour donner encore plus de force au chef-d'œuvre de Mozart, voici La Flûte en français !!!
