"Don Carlo”, grand opera, to majestatyczne dzieło sztuki, zawierające wspaniały materiał muzyczny, imponujące postacie historyczne i dramatyczną fabułę.

Jedna z najciekawszych produkcji Litewskiego Narodowego Teatru Opery i Baletu w Wilnie. Inscenizacja opery „Don Carlo” Verdiego od razu stała się jednym z najważniejszych wydarzeń teatralnych, a niezwykle zróżnicowane opinie, jakie wywołała, świadczą jedynie o tym, że ta wersja arcydzieła G. Verdiego wywiera bardzo silny wpływ na widzów.

Realizatorzy obecnej produkcji zaprezentowali własną wersję „Don Carlo”, odrzucając teatralne ilustracje i skupiając się na ujawnieniu najgłębszych pokładów znaczeń, ukrytych w muzyce i tekście. Głównym celem jej reżysera - Güntera Krämera - było zagłębienie się w operę Verdiego i pozbawienie realizacji wszystkich dotychczasowych odniesień, które nękały ją od czasu jej pierwszej prezentacji na paryskiej scenie w XIX wieku. Pewnym punktem wyjścia do inscenizacji była estetyka teledysku do rockowego albumu Davida Bowiego.

"Don Carlo", a grand opera, is a majestic work of art with great musical material, impressive historical figures and a dramatic storyline.

One of the most interesting productions of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater in Vilnius. The staging of Verdi's opera "Don Carlo" immediately became one of the most important theatrical events, and the extremely diverse opinions it evoked indicate only that this version of Verdi's masterpiece has a very strong impact on the audience.

The producers of the current production presented their own version of "Don Carlo", rejecting theatrical illustrations and focusing on revealing the deepest layers of meanings hidden in music and text. The main goal of its director - Günter Krämer - was to delve into Verdi's opera and deprive her of all the previous references that had plagued her since its first presentation on the Paris stage in the 19th century. A certain starting point for the staging was the aesthetics of the music video for David Bowie's rock album.
