Opera opera. This is how experts tend to call this work Mozart's mature genius from the last years of the master's life. What is its uniqueness? After all, the story itself - a relatively simple story of a fornicator persecuted by the victims of his passions - does not a priori presuppose the creation of an opera that should be written in history of this kind in golden letters!

If we are extremely interested in Don Giovanni , it is above all for the perfect connection of the musical language with the needs and challenges that the depicted story posed to the composer. Although Mozart does not deviate in any way from the classicist compositional style, although he does not in any way disrupt the strict stylistic "rule", he nevertheless gives the work a clear mark of originality, using all positions of musical language as a means of drawing characters and relationships. The author seems to consistently project musical material onto another medium - the surface of the subject - and every singing decoration, every harmony of voices in the ensembles, every change of tempo (and so on and so forth ...) justifies, fulfills, lets "soak" the dramatic meaning. And so, although we are used to interpreting the history of opera in their chronological sequence, Don Giovanni(as, after all, all the phenomenal works of art) seem to get out of time and space - and with a fascinating connection of music with non-musical meanings, it boldly competes with the best musical dramas of all periods and provenances!
