The  Donizetti Revolution  is, since its first edition,  the best key to open the doors of the festival dedicated to Gaetano Donizetti : an evening to discover new details on the life, work and creativity of the composer from Bergamo. Francesco Micheli , artistic director of the festival,  presents the Donizetti Opera 2022 to the public ,  together with the voice of the mezzo-soprano  Annalisa  Stroppa , the pianist  Hana  Lee  and a series of  surprise guests  ... a  new mix of  music, words, images and videos
, with which to enter the world of Gaetano and get to know the works that make up the program of the next festival.

«Donizetti revolutionary of art, inventor of Italian musical romanticism - underlines the dramaturg of the festival Alberto Mattioli - always ahead of his time, brilliant creator of stories in which we still believe because they are emotional dynamite that explodes in our hearts and brains. Revolutionizing the revolutionary, putting him in contact with contemporaneity, explaining that his are not old stories, but eternal stories, is the task of the Festival. To tell what we will do to ourselves, and why we will do it like this, there is the “Donizetti  Revolution vol. 8 ”: whoever makes a show announces his shows by making a show. An evening of words, notes, images, films and reflections with the artistic director of the Festival, Francesco Micheli, with some of the great voices that we will hear in Bergamo, with the video contributions of the students of the school-work alternation. To explain that Donizetti is not a reassuring icon of the past but a stimulus for the present, a contemporary of ours who for two centuries has explained to us how we are, and why. But also that discovering him with him is a show, a celebration and a joy. Revolutionaries ».

For this new edition of the  Revolution, various high schools in Bergamo were then involved including the Amaldi high school in Alzano Lombardo, the Sarpi high school and the Manzù high school in Bergamo, the Romero institute in Albino and the Zenale and Butinone institute in Treviglio, the Federici high school in Trescore Balneario. The students, during the period of school-work alternation spent in the theater, followed by the didactic team of the festival in collaboration with the Sesaab publishing group and as part of the PIC - Integrated Culture Plan by the Lombardy Region ("Cantiere Teatro - Young Education Program of the Donizetti Theater), have created some video contributions some of these videos will be part of the show, others will instead be available on the social profiles of Donizetti Opera as early as the next few days.
In addition, a group of 40 students, coming from the Andrea Fantoni School of Applied Art, from Liceo Paolo Sarpi and from IPIA Cesare Pesenti, will have a significant dramaturgical role in the evening.
