The attractive young Dorian Gray has his portrait painted by a painter. He becomes aware of his beauty and at the same time of the danger of losing it with age. But miraculously, all the processes of decay roll off him...

The literary opera is a project of the Cologne University of Music and Dance, which breaks new ground in music theater with singing students and in cooperation with the Wuppertal Opera by merging prose, drama and opera treads. School classes have the opportunity to talk to the people involved in the production on site or during a visit to the school.

Die Literaturoper ist ein Projekt der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, das mit Gesangsstudent_innen und in Kooperation mit der Oper Wuppertal mit der Verschmelzung von Prosa, Schauspiel und Oper neue Wege des Musiktheaters beschreitet. Schulklassen haben die Möglichkeit mit den Mitwirkenden der Produktion vor Ort oder bei einem Besuch in der Schule ins Gespräch zu kommen.
